The precautionary advisory was issued Tuesday after a water main broke at U.S. 1 and First Avenue, Town of Hilliard Public Works Director David Thompson said. Residents were advised to use bottled water or bring water to a rolling boil of one minute before using for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. The notice remained in effect until the water main was repaired and a bacteriological survey showed that the water is safe to drink.The order was rescinded at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
