The University of North Florida Victim Advocacy Program brought together dozens of students during its annual “Take Back the Night” march and vigil on Wednesday evening.

A local mom who lost her daughter to domestic violence in 2019 is taking action for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Hubbard House teamed up Monday to bring awareness to domestic violence in Jacksonville and hopefully put an end to the deadly issue.

A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer was arrested Thursday in St. Johns County and accused of domestic battery, domestic strangulation and depriving the victim of the ability to call 911.

On Thursday night at UNF, students came together to “Take Back The Night”.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says of the 576 reported domestic violence cases from October of last year to Monday, only 103 victims accepted services.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One in three women and one in four men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner, according to statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Hubbard House continued its work to combat the ongoing problem and hosted its annual breakfast Thursday morning.
