The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman found in an apartment on Jacksonville’s Northside Sunday afternoon.

After a long stint to attempt to keep business thriving, Celestial Farms is officially saying goodbye in the new year.

Multiple lanes were blocked Monday afternoon following a crash on I-95 near Airport Road and Duval Road.

Two children and three adults were transported with serious injuries after a crash Saturday morning on the city’s Northside, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

All lanes are blocked on I-295 southbound near Duval Road by a semi-truck blocking the roadway.

All lanes are blocked after a semi-truck accident. FHP says at least one person is hurt.

There are no injuries but traffic delays are building.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash with critical injuries early Tuesday morning on Duval Road at Interstate 295. A Jeep and a motorcycle were involved in the crash before 6 a.m. A spokesperson for Jacksonville Fire-Rescue said one person was transported with extremely critical injuries. Duval Road was closed in both directions at 295 while investigators determined the cause of the crash. The on-ramps to I-295 are still open. News4Jax will update this story when the FHP releases its preliminary report.

As part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Airport Road and Interstate 95 interchange improvements project, a detours of eastbound and westbound Airport Road and Airport Center Drive is scheduled from 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Drivers traveling west on Airport Center Drive who wish to continue to Airport Road will be detoured south on U.S. 17 (Main Street), where they will take a right onto Cole Road West, a right on Cole Road and another right onto Duval Road to continue to Airport Road. Drivers traveling north on I-95 who wish to take the Airport Road west exit will continue on I-95 north to the Pecan Park Road exit, turn left on Pecan Park Road and make another left on the I-95 south ramp to continue to the Airport Road exit. Drivers traveling east on Airport Road will take the I-95 south ramp to join motorists already on I-95 south. If you have an early morning flight on Monday, January 27, please be aware of Airport Road detours.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Traffic homicide detectives are investigating after a bicyclist was found dead on Duval Road early Saturday morning. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the victim was dead about 1:45 a.m. when officers arrived in the largely industrial area not far from Jacksonville International Airport. Police said there were no witnesses at the scene of the hit-and-run, so they do not know exactly when it happened or have a description of the vehicle. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist on Duval Road in the parking lot of Swischer International just before 2 a.m. Saturday. When deputies arrived, they found the bicyclist had already died. There were no witnesses on scene, so officers do not have a description of the vehicle. Motorists traveling northbound I-295 wishing to exit to Lem Turner Road will detour to Duval Road (Exit 33), return to I-295 and travel south to exit Lem Turner Road. Drivers will detour via Dunn Avenue and use the I-295 southbound entrance ramp. Also, on Tuesday, the I-295 northbound entrance ramp from Duval Road will be closed. On Wednesday, the I-295 northbound and southbound exit ramps to Duval Road will be closed. Drivers will be detoured to Lem Turner Road (Exit 32) and travel east on Dunn Avenue to return to Duval Road.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 60-year-old man was hit and killed Tuesday morning while crossing Airport Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The man, later identified as James Schupolsky, was not in a crosswalk, troopers said. The 60-year-old female driver was headed east on Airport Road in her Honda CR-V when Schupolsky crossed toward Duval Road and she was unable to avoid hitting him, according to the FHP report.
