A man whose conviction in a 1986 sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl was vacated in May pleaded not guilty Tuesday in connection with a shooting that Jacksonville police said occurred in June after his release from prison.

Edward Taylor was arrested and accused of attempted murder following a shooting on A. Phillip Randolph Boulevard.
