A man in his 30s was killed this morning when he crashed into a large Oak tree on Firestone Road near according to JSO.

A 16-year-old is facing charges after a deadly shooting Thursday morning that forced Westside High School to temporarily go on lockout.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is requesting help identifying a caregiver for this child.

A judge has granted the City of Jacksonville a temporary injunction requiring the owner of Colonial Forest Apartments to take immediate action at the property.

Residents at Colonial Forest Apartments on the Westside say they feel unsafe living there. Multiple stairways and patios have been condemned at the property on Firestone Road. One woman told News4JAX she nearly fell off her front porch because the patio floor caved in.

An officer at the scene said its unclear if the shooting was part of a robbery but both victims were shot multiple times.
