Parents of Clay County students should prepare for potential changes, as the school board considers new attendance boundaries for junior high schools.

On July 16, job seekers will have the chance to earn employment at the Clay County District Schools in-person job fair, which runs from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Fleming Island High School.

The Clay County School Board held a recruitment fair at Fleming Island High School to hire staff to battle the teacher shortage.

The superintendent of Clay County District Schools said they’d like to have nearly 200 teacher vacancies filled by the start of the next school year.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – An issue with Clay Electric knocked out power for almost 23,000 customers just before 5 a.m. -- nearly 10% of the utility’s customers. Friday At 10:20 a.m., a large number of customers came back on and Clay Electric’s outage map shows residents and businesses dropped to just under 2,000. A spokesperson for Clay Electric said the outage was caused by a transmission line and several crews.
