(Duval Audubon Society)Recently, two families of Florida Sandhill Cranes were found nesting off of New World Avenue, a four lane highway that connects to FL-23, over by Cecil Commerce Center North. Florida Sandhill Cranes (listed as Threatened by FWC) are nesting along New World Ave in west Jax, but this spring some have been killed while crossing this busy road to find food.
