A yellow Labrador retriever rescue dog that gained fame in the days following Mexico’s Sept. 19, 2017, earthquake has died.

Frida the rescue dog, an important member of Mexicos Navy, is hanging up her signature boots and goggles. People fell so deeply in love with Frida that murals of her have popped up all over Mexico. Frida went to Ecuador after 2016's horrifying earthquake, when more than 600 people lost their lives and at least 6,000 people were seriously injured. Throughout her time as a service dog, she saved 12 lives and recovered 41 bodies, according to the AP. Mexicos Navy awarded her with a toy and standing ovation for all of her sacrifices.
