JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A steady stream of boaters lined the St. Johns River on Saturday in a parade to celebrate the Republican National Convention. The boats featured Trump 2020 flags and other banners as they churned up and down the river from the Hart Bridge to the Fuller Warren Bridge and back. The party designated viewing areas along both the Northbank and Southbank, urging spectators to also display American flags and other signage. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Construction crews are close to finishing operational improvements and enhancements on the interchange at Interstate 95 and Interstate 10, the Fuller Warren Bridge, and along the east side of U.S.17 north bound between McDuff Avenue and Rosselle Street. The project, which started in February 2017 could be finished in a little less than a year, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. and the creation of a shared use path, which is being referred to as the pedestrian bridge south of the Fuller Warren. The shared use path is an essential component of construction for improving safety for pedestrians and bicyclists. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 23-year-old was killed in a crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 95 near the Fuller Warren Bridge, according to Florida Highway Patrol. FHP said two vehicles were involved in the crash that happened on I-95 southbound just after 1 p.m. A Chevrolet Tahoe traveling directly behind the Saturn did not slow down and collided with the rear end of the Saturn. Thomas died in the crash and a passenger in the Saturn suffered minor injuries. Fatima Thomas' friends set up a GoFundMe campaign to help her family fund the funeral and miscellaneous costs of her sudden death.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - As part of the Interstate 10/Interstate 95 Operational Improvements project, I-95 northbound at the Fuller Warren Bridge will be detoured from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Saturday as crews place beams on the I-95 northbound to I-10 westbound ramp, the Florida Department of Transportation said. Drivers traveling north on I-95 will be detoured to the downtown exit ramps and onto the Acosta Bridge. From the Acosta Bridge, traffic will take a right onto Broad Street and then a left onto Adams Street, where traffic can travel north on I-95 or west on I-10. As part of the detour for I-10 westbound traffic and the alternate detour for I-95 northbound traffic, drivers will be directed to the downtown exit ramps and onto the Acosta Bridge. From the Acosta Bridge traffic, drivers will take a left on Riverside Avenue and then a left onto Forest Street, where traffic can take I-10 westbound or I-95 northbound.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Six people were injured in a crash Wednesday night on the Fuller Warren Bridge, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A little kitten had a big adventure under the Fuller Warren Bridge on Tuesday. The kitten got stuck on a cement beam underneath the highway in the Riverside Arts Market area and needed some professional help getting to safety. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department's Technical Rescue Team from Ladder 4 came to the rescue. Firefighters corralled the kitten in the concrete area where it was stuck. The kitten was turned over to Animal Care and Protective Services.
