The GATE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Jacksonville-based GATE Petroleum Company, and GATE customers raised $40,000 in support of Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville company marked its 60th anniversary with a $60,000 donation. Gate Petroleum Company donated the money to the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Florida from the Gate Foundation. “Gate is proud to be a Jacksonville company,” said John Peyton, president of Gate Petroleum Company. The Foundation typically hosts its annual charity golf tournament in the fall, where supporters raise money for a selected charity. “While it was disappointing to cancel this year’s golf tournament, we are grateful that we could pivot and see this generous show of support from our partners,” said Kathy Brady, executive director of The Gate Foundation.

Earlier this year, Flagler Hospital announced it would soon have health villages in several St. Johns County neighborhoods as part of an expansion into its new Flagler Health+ brand. Phase one will introduce a Flagler Health+ Village that incorporates family practice, womens care, pediatrics, urgent care, imaging and laboratory services. Additional offerings will be further refined in partnership with area residents through a dedicated Durbin Park Health Advisory Council. We are excited that Flagler Health+ has chosen to create its Flagler Health+ Village in Durbin Park, said Drew Frick, president of GATE Lands. Construction on the Flagler Health+ Village is anticipated to begin in 2020.
