Ellis was taken in for an interview and later charged with two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide. Police said they were called about 4:30 p.m. Thursday to the day care on Southeast Fourth Avenue after the parent of the child arrived to find injuries on the child's face. The initial investigation indicated the injuries may have been caused by another child, but upon reviewing the surveillance footage, it was discovered day care worker Erica Hall, 37, caused the injuries, according to the Police Department. As officers were reviewing the footage, the Police Department said, Hall ran from the premises and could not be located. A warrant was issued Friday for her arrest, and Hall turned herself in Tuesday to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office and was booked into the Alachua County jail, the Police Department said.
