After years of ongoing deadly violence, Jacksonville’s total number of homicides in 2024 dropped by nearly half from the previous year: from 158 to just 82.

The family of a man who was killed in a home invasion robbery in January on Jacksonville’s westside has released surveillance footage from that night in hopes of getting the case solved.
