7PM UPDATE: Rains have ended and skies will slowly clear in Duval County.

Exact Track 4-D has been watching developing misty chilly rains. These will not be particularly heavy, Yet, they will be around through mid-morning Tuesday.

Rainfall on Thursday was impressive, with most folks seeing between 1/2″ and 1-1/2″ of rainfall. Very nice. Also, very October, as classically is the case, something like 27 of 31 days are dry. Then there are those 4 wet days. Where, when it rains, it pours.

Friday, moisture from our south may fire off a few afternoon showers for folks living between Gainesville to Palatka to St. Augustine. Jacksonville should stay dry. Skies will be sunny and our temperatures will be warmer. Morning temperatures will start in the low to mid 60s and see a high around 85°.

Awesome work week spilled into a beautiful Friday evening and this will spill into a beautiful Saturday morning.

Maybe the best part of Friday will be the Gaughan Gauge, it will be a “9”, nice!

Before we get into the weekend forecast, it is another chilly morning. Pre-sunrise hours will be in the 40s inland and mid 50s along area beaches. Skies will have some high clouds, will lead to hazy sunshine throughout the day. Afternoon highs will reach into the 70s, about TEN degrees milder than Thursday’s highs. You will feel the difference, it will also be a “10″ on the Friday Gaughan Gauge. Nice!

Simply a “10″ on the Gaughan Gauge for Wednesday. Sunny skies and highs in the 80s. Even area beaches will have high temperatures in the 80s. Sweet! Accompanying these warm temperature will be super sunny skies and a gusty westerly wind, winds could gust up to 20 mph.

Monday was a “10″.

Monday was amazing, of course the comparison to Sunday made it easy. It was a “10″ on the Gaughan Gauge and as we kick-off this Tuesday morning with almost chilly temperatures in the 50s as the sun comes up. There will be plentiful sunshine, wall to wall blue skies in the morning and only a few high clouds throughout the day will make it a super terrific Tuesday. Afternoon highs will be in the 80s, even out to the beaches. Beaches will cool after 2pm as the sea breeze (onshore winds) will bring in a slight chill.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – I am often asked how do I compute the Gaughan Gauge? Maybe too warm lately? You get the idea... but ultimately the afternoon temperatures have to be between 75-82°. Now, Thursday, afternoon highs will reach into the mid to upper 70s, especially inland areas. The Players will have highs in the low 70s, quickly cooling into the 60s during the afternoon hours.

At area beaches, super sunshine will present a huge issue, yep, the need for sunscreen. Sure, beach temperatures will warm all morning and early afternoon, until, the winds shift onshore and bring in dropping temperatures. By early evening, dinning at area beaches, I would have clothes to layer-up with as evening temperatures at area beaches will be in the 60s. Putting it all together, grab some sunscreen and layer-up as you head to area beaches. Watch for some sunshine fog each morning, some will be dense fog.

Thursday had a high of 90° we will see about a 35° drop in temperatures as we wake up on Friday morning. Normal morning low is 56° we should be there in the morning. Sunday morning temperatures will be not as cool, wake up temperatures will start on the mid-60s. Early next week, cold, yes, cold temperatures will be possible, 40s seem likely by Tuesday morning. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Super sunshine and milder temperatures will make today (Thursday) a perfect “10” on the Gaughan Gauge. Early morning sunrise temperatures will start off in the low 50s inland to 60° along the coast. Sunshine reigns all day and day time highs reach back into the 80s. At the moment, it appears the highest chances with highest rainfall amounts will be along the Coastal and Southern counties. Rainfall amounts could be as much as an inch of rain, not a quick burst, but an on-off pattern that could last much of Sunday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Autumn like weather the next few days! With morning (sunrise) temperatures in the 50s in most places (even some area beaches) and afternoon highs mostly in the 70s, with mostly sunny skies! Thursday morning will be the coolest with morning lows in the 40s in Georgia and low 50s throughout much of inland North Florida. This weekend has a curve ball being thrown at us, with a developing warm front to our south. Tropics probably fire off Delta and right after that maybe Gamma by mid-week next week.
