Glynn County Superior Court Judge Anthony Harrison dismissed three charges of violating oaths of office against both former Glynn County Police Chief John Powell and former chief of staff Brian Scott, The Brunswick News reported. The judge also threw out three oath-of-office violation charges against former Glynn County officer David Haney. The judge refused to throw out perjury charges against all three men and witness tampering charges against Powell and Scott, who later became Vidalia police chief. The charges followed the discovery that a Glynn County narcotics officer was having sex with two confidential informants.

The man who recorded the fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia is receiving threats after authorities announced that he’s also being investigated following the killing, his attorney said. The video appears to show the confrontation between Arbery and two men before the shooting that left Arbery dead in Brunswick, Georgia. Gough, Bryan’s attorney, said his client was not acting in conjunction with the McMichaels the day of the shooting. The footage, which the GBI did not describe, was reviewed prior to the arrests of Gregory and Travis McMichael, the GBI said. Gregory McMichael is in the bed of the truck, while his son is standing near the driver's side door.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34, in the deadly shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, according to a news release Thursday night. They were both charged with murder and aggravated assault and booked into the Glynn County jail. Gregory McMichael told police after the February shooting that he and his son chased after Arbery because they suspected him of being a burglar. Justice will be served.”Gregory McMichael told police he suspected the runner was the same man filmed by a security camera committing a break-in. He and his grown son, Travis McMichael, grabbed guns and began a pursuit in the truck.
