Coast Guard crews put the barge in “a more favorable position” Tuesday night and anchored it. Wednesday morning, the Coast Guard said the barge was stable about 1 mile south of the entrance to the St. Johns River, adding there are no impacts on the environment and a 500-yard safety zone is enforced around the barge. AdThe Coast Guard did not specify what kind of ash was being hauled but said nothing has spilled from the barge. #USCG Sector #Jacksonville is responding to an incident involving the barge Bridgeport, 1 mile south of the St. John's River entrance. A safety zone is in place and all mariners are urged to remain clear of operations.

A 35-year-old woman drowned after her SUV overturned in a lake at Hanna Park but rescuers pulled a 5-year-old daughter from the submerged car alive, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. First responders spent more than an hour looking for the car -- even using a helicopter in the search to find it.
