A poll of more than 800 students, and a handful of faculty, staff and others, at the University of North Florida showed overwhelming approval of the institution’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, programs and courses.

As students and faculty celebrate homecoming this week, there’s controversy around a University of Florida committee’s pick for the school’s next president.

Many freshmen at the University of North Florida moved into their dorm Friday while hundreds of others are still looking for a place to live this fall.

The University of North Florida is working with students who need housing for the fall semester.

The survey is in response to HB 233 signed into law in 2021 by Governor DeSantis, who, at the time, claimed universities were prone to suppressing certain political viewpoints, though he did not cite any specific examples or elaborate on which viewpoints were being suppressed.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Students returned to Florida State University’s campus on Thursday to move out of their dorms, nearly three months after they closed because of the pandemic. While students are moving out, university leaders are continuing to develop plans designed to keep students safe when they return to campus in the fall. When students left for spring break, they didn’t realize it’d be the last time they’d see campus for nearly three months. And the University of Florida has suggested testing wastewater at dorm buildings for virus particulars in order to spot outbreaks. While most students are moving out at FSU, the university told us international students are still living in the dorms since they can’t travel back home.
