Police found a two-vehicle crash in the intersection of Harts Road and Dunn Avenue, and inside one of the involved cars, they found a man, about 35 years old, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said it appeared from the evidence at the scene that the man was shot while inside his vehicle and then crashed in the road at some point. Investigators say then another car that was traveling south on harts road crashed into him. Saturday’s incident was the seventh deadly shooting on Harts Road this year, according to News4Jax records.

Troopers said the motorcyclist, John Mason, was headed west on Dunn Avenue near Armsdale Road about 2:45 p.m. when a Chevy Silverado turned left onto Dunn Avenue from Armsdale Road, across the motorcycle’s path. A woman told News4Jax she stopped to help Mason as he was lying in the road. “I knew it was going to happen, and I told my daughter they are not going to put a light there until someone gets killed, and that’s just what happened," said Jennie Talley, who lives near Dunn Avenue. The crash shut down both directions of Dunn Avenue between Pine Estates Road and Biscayne Boulevard for several hours.
