Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback Jake Fromm apologized for using the phrase elite white people in a text conversation from more than a year ago, and posted on social media early Thursday morning. The Bills have not responded to questions regarding the posts involving Fromm, or his apology. Fromms text conversation was captured in two screen shots and posted on an account with the name of @ashleymp20 shortly before 1 a.m. Now, more than ever, is the time for support and togetherness and I stand against racism 100% Fromm wrote in his apology. ATLANTA Georgia has picked up another high-profile transfer to compete for its starting quarterback job, landing former Southern California starter JT Daniels. Daniels started for the Trojans in 2018, but lost his job to Kedon Slovis after going down last season with a knee injury. He announced Thursday that hes heading to Georgia, which is seeking a replacement for three-year starter Jake Fromm. Daniels won the starting job again out of camp last summer in new offensive coordinator Graham Harrells up-tempo scheme, but the sophomore tore a ligament in his knee in the Trojans season opener against Fresno State. Slovis stepped into the starting job and excelled in Harrells offense as a freshman, passing for 3,502 yards with 30 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Tennessee: The quarterback change gave Tennessee an energy boost to start the game and enabled the Vols to outplay Georgia for the first 25 minutes or so.

With thousands of Georgia fans wearing pink instead of red to honor Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson's wife, Wendy, who died last month from breast cancer, the Bulldogs (3-0) took control as soon as they got their hands on the ball. Anderson, coaching his second game since returning from a leave of absence, was moved by the support of the Georgia fans. A group of shirtless students sitting in the first row behind the Arkansas State bench painted their upper bodies pink and wrote ``Remember Wendy'' across their backs. Georgia: It's hard to get a read on a team that's beaten Vanderbilt, Murray State and Arkansas State.

NASHVILLE - Jake Fromm threw for 156 yards and a touchdown, and third-ranked Georgia opened the season Saturday night routing Vanderbilt 30-6. The Bulldogs won their 20th opener in 23 seasons and stayed perfect to kick off coach Kirby Smart's fourth season. They also easily won their 14th straight against the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division in their first league game to open a season since 1995. Georgia finished with a 481-225 edge in total offense, and the Bulldogs also had two sacks and recovered a fumble. Fromm showed he had no issues finding someone else to throw to, going 7 of 8 for 97 yards to open the game.
