A new mural was unveiled on Jacksonville’s Eastside Saturday to bring more awareness to mental health and the resources available to the community.

The Police Athletic League of Jacksonville held its second annual JaxPAL 5K and Fun Run Saturday morning.

For 50 years now, JaxPAL has been partnering with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, creating positive relationships between law enforcement officers and our community’s youth, through sports, educational and leadership programs.

Academy Sports + Outdoors and the Jaguars Foundation on Monday surprised the Jacksonville Police Athletic League with a $5,000 gift card for a shopping spree.

The location caught on fire back in March and was severely damaged. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Myles Jack may only be 23 years old, but hes wise beyond whats listed on his birth certificate. However, he wanted to make sure that these kids know that there are other careers worth pursuing. I wish somebody wouldve told me, 'Myles, you can be a lawyer or doctor,' said Jack. "Giving back, my family, God -- those are the main things, and obviously football. Those are the main things," Jack said.
