In a bit during Sunday night's Emmys, host Jimmy Kimmel sprayed an envelope holding a winner's name with disinfectant then, for good measure, dropped it in a wire wastebasket and set it on fire. So far, so good, ceremony executive producer Reginald Hudlin said Monday. A test had been run beforehand, with a booster added to make the fire more visible, and things were going as planned when the scene was shot — including Aniston to the rescue. She sprayed the wastebasket again, but as she and Kimmel bantered the fire flared again, bigger, and "we're like 'uh oh,'" Hudlin said.

The Nielsen company said 6.1 million people watched the Emmys on Sunday night, down from 6.9 million in 2019 and the third straight year of record low viewership. Still, it illustrated how the Emmy Awards are becoming a boutique event. Last year was the first time viewership slipped under 10 million people. Viewership is also fragmented across many different networks and streaming services, and several shows don't have a wide audience.

The actress on Tuesday joined the social media platform with a bang, posting a photo with her former co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc. Jason Sudeikis is headed back to TV for a new comedy series, Ted Lasso. The Saturday Night Live alum will star as the eponymous Ted Lasso, who is described as "an idealistic all-American football coach hired to manage an English football club -- despite having no soccer coaching experience at all." For Sudekis, this will be his first starring role since he left Saturday Night Live in 2013, at the end of season 38, after serving on the cast for nine seasons. Recently, his TV work has included a recurring role on the acclaimed Fox sitcom The Last Man On Earth, and providing the voice for the lead character on the short-lived animated series Son of Zorn. Apple TV+ is set to launch Nov. 1, which also marks the premiere of The Morning Show, starring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell.

In an interview with Variety, the 50-year-old actress revealed that although there was some interest in a movie, producers wouldn't allow it. Actor Paul Rudd opens up on Friday's The Graham Norton Show about the popular sitcom, which he appeared on from 2002 until the show's end in 2004, and how he almost didn't get to keep his recurring role after accidentally hurting co-star Jennifer Aniston on set. "I was on set for my first episode and Jennifer was on a Segway because she had broken her toe, and everyone was marveling at it," Rudd recalls. "Matt LeBlanc asked to have a go and immediately knew how to do it. But overall, Rudd calls working on Friends "an incredible thing to be part of." Prior to working on Friends, Rudd had co-starred with Aniston in 1998's The Object of My Affection, and following Friends, they also co-starred in 2012's Wanderlust alongside Aniston's now-ex-husband, Justin Theroux.

A private jet carrying members of Pink's team crash-landed and burst into flames upon landing at Aurhaus Airport in Denmark on Monday night, Danish media is reporting. According to multiple reports, Pink wasn't on the plane, and thankfully, there were also no casualties or serious injuries from the accident.
