Jacksonville officers responding to Justina Road near the Grasp Academy and Caroline Village Apartments about 8:40 p.m. found a woman with a gunshot wound. The scene was roped off with crime-scene tape and a police helicopter with a searchlight circled the area until about 10 p.m.At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police were called to Justina Road after a 30-year-old man was shot in his leg by someone driving by. The two shootings took place within two blocks just north of Merrill Road. It was not clear if the two incidents are related and both remain under investigation.

Investigators were called to the scene on Justina Road just north of Justina Road Elementary School at about 8 p.m. Doug Molina, it appears the woman was shot inside an apartment. Anyone with information was asked to contact the Sheriff's Office by calling 904-630-0500 or emailing jsocrimetips@jaxsheriff.org. Earlier in the evening, officers were sent to investigate a separate shooting in the Ribault neighborhood.
