Grand juries are typically secret meetings, though earlier this month the audio recordings of the proceedings in the Taylor case were released publicly. Cameron announced the results of the grand jury investigation in a widely viewed news conference on Sept. 23.

John Kriner knelt for nearly 30 minutes at the site, Jefferson Square near the citys courthouse, to pray for peace. Reports of shots fired at Jefferson Square Park came in around 9 p.m., Louisville Metro police said in a statement. The Saturday night shooting was at least the second during nearly a month of protests in Louisville over Taylors death. Kenneth Walker, Taylor's boyfriend, was originally charged with attempted murder after he fired a shot at one of the officers who came into the home.
