A joint venture between GM and LG Chem currently is building a $2 billion battery factory in Lordstown, Ohio, near Cleveland, that will employ about 1,000 people. The Wall Street Journal first reported that GM and LG Chem are pursuing a site in Tennessee to build a new battery plant. Last year full battery electric vehicles accounted for only 2% of the U.S. market of 14.6 million in new vehicle sales.

The first known deaths from the virus in the U.S. happened in early February 2020. The toll hit 200,000 deaths in September and 300,000 in December. The U.S. recorded an estimated 405,000 deaths in World War II, 58,000 in the Vietnam War and 36,000 in the Korean War.

The Operations Director at the society drove the dogs to safety on Friday. The dogs were brought back to the Nassau Humane Society.
