A Putnam County man was arrested on multiple charges of sexual battery on a child following an investigation from 2021 that stemmed from a tip.

Millions of dollars have poured into the highly competitive race to become the next sheriff of Jacksonville.

In two weeks, voters will pick a new Jacksonville sheriff during a special election on August 23. Tuesday the candidates talked to potential voters at a forum with the Northside Business Leaders group at the Jacksonville Zoo.

The race for sheriff has now moved from a year-long battle to less than 80 days as the candidates try to move voters in their favor.
