John Legend may have multiple Grammys and achieved the rare EGOT status, but the prolific singer still feels the need to prove himself.

LOS ANGELES – Chrissy Teigen wrote a heartfelt message about the recent loss of her third child with husband John Legend. Teigen delivered the essay in a Medium post Tuesday. In Tuesday’s post, Teigen wrote that her doctors diagnosed her with a partial placental abruption. Teigen said her decision to take and post photos of the process was met with some support and criticism. She said Legend was “very hesitant” to take the photos, but she felt the need to share their story.

The country singer then handed Legend some short shorts with bedazzled letters "EGOTSMA" to signify the singer's many honors: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony and now, Sexiest Man Alive.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are asking each other the hard questions. The couple married in September 2013, and he was significantly wealthier than she was at the time. When Legend told Teigen that she once told Vogue that the three words to describe their relationship was "keeping it sexy" and asked if she still felt that way today, Teigen didn't hesitate. The Cravings author is blunt with Legend throughout the questioning, including telling him she hates his 2008 hit song, "Green Light." In a series of tweets Saturday, Legend, who champions criminal justice reform, said prison is not always the answer for every mistake. "I get why everyone gets mad when rich person X gets a short sentence and poor person of color Y gets a long one. The answer isn't for X to get more; it's for both of them to get less (or even none!!!) In addition to two weeks in prison, the "Desperate Housewives" star was sentenced to one year supervised release and 250 hours of community service.

Before the concert, Legend met with Mayor Nan Whaley and employees of Heart Mercantile. People who work in the Oregon District told CNN that the visit was therapeutic following an emotional week. Andy Rowe, assistant general manager at Blind Bob's, the venue where Legend performed, told CNN that the entire district appreciated the singer's visit. "It felt like the first positive beautiful moment we've felt all week," Alison Bohman told CNN by text.
