JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former Jaguars kicker Mike Hollis has coached some girls kickers in the past, but he’s never put on a kicking camp exclusively for girls and women. Saturday and Sunday, he’ll do just that with a camp that will raise money for the Demp Project to fight sex trafficking in the Jacksonville area. Hollis kicked for the Jaguars from 1995-2001, then finished his career with one season in Buffalo. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Demp Project, a Jacksonville-based church-based non-profit that fights sex trafficking. They go into strip clubs and adult entertainment establishments to help rescue girls and women who have been forced into the sex trade.

According to JSO crime data, within the past 12 months, there have been a total of 135 calls for service involving panhandling downtown. Homeless shelters in downtown Jacksonville offer an array of services to help people who have fallen on hard times. It’s an organization that offers a multitude of services to help people who have fallen on bad times. Those services include shelter, food, help with substance abuse and workforce development to help people find jobs. They might have a room somewhere or maybe even an apartment and they’re not homeless,” Stasi said.

ST. JOHNS, Fla. – The Castillo de San Marcos, which has been closed since March 17, reopened to visitors on Wednesday. According to a release from the National Park Service, starting Wednesday, the Castillo will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. From its incredible structure to its cannons, the Castillo de San Marcos is a history lesson up close. Vicki Perdue and her husband were visiting St. Augustine from Texas and recalled their first time bringing their young children to see the fort. The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the United States.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Friends have identified the man who was killed early Tuesday morning in Mandarin in what police described as a domestic-related shooting. Christopher Bowman, 47, had recently moved to Jacksonville from Virginia, according to friends. The Jacksonville Sheriffs Office said it received several 911 calls around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday about a shooting at a home on Sheldrake Drive, just south of Loretto Road. Responding officers found a man, who friends identified as Bowman, dead inside the home with at least one gunshot wound. Neighbors said Bowmans girlfriend does not appear to have returned to the home since the shooting.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A special meeting to grant some Jacksonville residents $1,000 for local stimulus relief may hit a couple of snags as a council member wants to see some revisions to the plan. Councilman Garrett Dennis said the requirements need to be loosened so more people qualify for the payment. Dennis is referring to the more than $160 million the city of Jacksonville received from the federal government’s CARES Act. An additional qualification requires the applicant to have lost at least 25% of their income due to the COVID-19 crisis. Information on how to apply for the stimulus is not available yet, but News4Jax learned applications will be available both online and by phone.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two businesses in San Marco will re-open just in time for Black Friday after a fire damaged their stores earlier this month. The Wardroom and the San Marco Book Store will welcome customers back starting Friday in the popular shopping district. Beach Diner remains closed to repair damage from the fire. The restaurant said it worked to place its employees with other Beach Diner locations in town until the diner is back up and running. CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Jacksonville’s Oakleaf neighborhood is exploding with new development and some people who live in the area are concerned the roadways aren’t equipped to handle the heavy volume of traffic. BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. – A Bradford County grand jury today returned a first-degree murder indictment today against Billy Wells, the so-called "Monster of Mayport." Wells has been charged with the prison murder of inmate William Chapman at Florida State Prison in Bradford County on July 5. Wells was in prison after he pleaded guilty to the murders of five people whose decomposing bodies were found in his Mayport mobile home in 2003. He eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 2004. Wells killed another prison inmate in 2011 and again pleaded guilty and was handed another life sentence.

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – "Clueless" actress Stacey Dash has been arrested on a domestic battery charge in Florida. According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Dash was arguing with a man at her New Port Richey apartment when she slapped him in the face. An arrest affidavit didn't identify the victim, but it said he had scratch marks on his left upper arm "from being pushed." Dash was arrested Sunday and booked into jail. The 52-year-old actress married lawyer Jeffrey Marty in Florida last year.

Walt Disney World has raised the price of its annual passes, as seen on the theme park's website. WAYCROSS, Ga. – Two men pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute large amounts of methamphetamine from Atlanta and throughout the Southern District of Georgia, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the district. The U.S. Attorney's Office said the investigation began when agents received information Camacho-Pineda was connected to a Mexican cartel and was supplying other members of the conspiracy operating in Waycross, Georgia and elsewhere. The U.S. Attorney's Office said he fled in his vehicle for about 10 miles and traveled in excess of 130 mph, ultimately wrecking the vehicle. Agents arrested Santana-Hernandez after he traveled from Atlanta to Dublin, Georgia to collect drug proceeds for a previous drug deal involving two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The charge carries a sentence of 10 years to life in prison and potential fines of up to $10 million each, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

WELLINGTON, Fla. – A man accused of masturbating while looking through a girl's bedroom window in Wellington was beaten up by the girl's father and arrested, deputies said. According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office probable cause affidavit, the girl's father caught Cassidy crouched in some bushes by the window with his hands in his pants. But the father, identified by WPBF as former NFL defensive back Tony Beckham, chased after Cassidy and tackled him to the ground. The girl told the deputy she had just gotten out of the shower and was getting dressed when Cassidy was looking through the window. Cassidy was taken to Wellington Regional Medical Center to be treated for fractures to his face and eye.
