Fans hoping to see more of Luke Perry's character in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are getting their wish. "I am deeply honored to pay tribute to Luke on Riverdale," Doherty wrote on instagram. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa had said last month the season premiere would be dedicated to saying goodbye to Perry, who appeared on the show since 2017. In a statement, Aguirre-Sacasa said Perry had wanted Doherty to guest since season 1 of the show. "They were such good friends, and when we were putting together this tribute episode, we wanted to make it as special as possible, and so we asked Shannen to do a pivotal, super-emotional role," he said.

Ian Ziering says the Beverly Hills, 90210 revival will find the perfect way to honor the late Luke Perry. Luke was a best friend to me, not just when we were on 90210 but even before that. In May, a source close to the 90210 reboot production told ET that the cast was feeling nothing but "positive vibes" while filming, and wanted to make sure that Perry was properly honored. We're going to dive into some of the personal issues that we, as a cast, have dealt with in our own lives," Ziering told ET about the storylines.
