Nora Quoirin, from London, was staying at a resort in a nature reserve 39 miles south of the capital, Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian police have told the family the incident is being treated as both an abduction and a missing person case, the group told CNN. The Dusun resort, where the family were staying, is in a remote area 800 feet above sea level, in the Titiwangsa mountain range. CNN has contacted the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and the Malaysian Embassy in London for comment.

Since Monday, 104 children have fallen ill in the southern state of Johor because of the pollution, according to local officials. Azlina said two of her three daughters had to be pulled from school due to this week's pollution, amid reports of students collapsing and vomiting. "I rushed to my 10-year-old daughter's school and was so worried about her because she has chronic asthma," she said.
