Michael Penix Jr. won his debut as Atlanta’s starting quarterback, thanks largely to a defense that returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns to hand the hapless New York Giants their franchise-record 10th straight loss, 34-7.

The New England Patriots have traded four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Matthew Judon to the Atlanta Falcons for a third-round draft pick.

Justin Fields threw for 179 yards and a touchdown and ran for 82 yards and another score, and the Bears defense forced returning Patriots starter Mac Jones back to the bench to give Chicago a 33-14 victory over New England.

Mac Jones threw a 19-yard scoring pass to Nelson Agholor for the game’s only offensive touchdown and the New England defense took care of the rest.

Middle linebacker Joe Schobert, one of the final major free agent signings of Dave Caldwell’s tenure, was an above-average player last season. Hilton, who was signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2016, could be a nice addition as a nickel.

The Jaguars tied the record for the longest losing streak in franchise history, dropping their 13th straight game with a 40-14 loss to the Ravens on Sunday. The Jaguars (1-13) return home next week with the Chicago Bears visiting TIAA Bank Field and a dubious streak on the horizon. Jackson went to the bench after throwing his third touchdown pass of the game early in the fourth quarter and the Ravens up 40-7. Outside of Jackson’s pick on his first drive — which wound up ultimately benefitting the Ravens — Baltimore was seldom challenged. Robinson rushed for 35 yards on 16 carries and left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.
