In the wake of Hurricane Beryl, fresh food and cool air are coming from Houston community groups that have honed their disaster services in a city frequently battered by extreme weather.

Members of Jacksonville’s Jewish community fanned out around Jacksonville to deliver Christmas meals to seniors served by the Meals on Wheels program, operated by Aging True.

Several local groups teamed up Friday for their annual holiday meal delivery.

Hundreds of families throughout the community now have one more reason to give thanks.
