Police have not identified the pair but said family has been notified. Investigators taped off the perimeter of the home on North 19th Street, and the street was closed around 9:30 a.m. between Washington and Ocean streets. Police are still investigating the incident but they said they do not believe there is any threat to the community. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Scene unit and the Medical Examiner’s Office are helping detectives process the scene.

The St. Augustine Police Department said the body was found in the intercoastal waterway behind Cats Paw Marina just after 8 a.m. They have not released the man's identity but said FWC officials said it did not appear to be related to any boating incidents. The single-engine plane crashed Dec. 20 off the coast of Little Talbot Island, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. News4Jax aviation expert Ed Booth believes the pilot ignored weather reports on the day of the crash, and said the crash could have been prevented.

Narcan is widely used to reverse on opioid overdose but, the fentanyl analogues are so strong, Narcan often doesn’t work, and overdose calls to 911 in Jacksonville have doubled every year for three years. Of opioid deaths in the state last year, 965 of those people had used fentanyl analogs. Occurrences of fentanyl increased by 80 percent, and deaths caused by fentanyl skyrocketed by 97 percent. Duval County is the only county where the per capita number of fentanyl deaths exceeded 25 per 100,000 residents.
