PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – A Charlotte County Sheriff’s sergeant was fatally shot Monday while investigating a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex. Michael Wilson, a 20-year veteran, was responding to a physical fight involving 49-year-old Jay Vanko, his wife and son. Police said Vanko immediately shot Wilson from the top of a second-story stairwell, creating a “fatal funnel” and striking the officer in the chest above his bullet-proof vest. Deputies, with assistance from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, used a tactical robot and found the suspect dead inside the apartment. The Herald-Tribune reports that over his career, the sergeant worked in the jail, road patrol and street crimes divisions of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, in addition to serving as a school resource officer.

ST. MARYS, Ga. – Movies theaters are allowed to reopen and limited in-restaurant dining can resume on Monday under Gov. Georgia Theatre Company owns 22 theaters in the Peach State, including four in Southeast Georgia area: Glynn Place, Kings Bay, Island and Mall Cinemas. “Although the Governor will allow us to open our theatres in Georgia on Monday, we will not be opening for several weeks. Some Georgians told News4Jax on Sunday they still won’t go to restaurants or movie theaters for a while. “We don’t want to risk our employees, we don’t wanna risk our customers, you know, customers are our priority," Alvarez said.

NEW YORK (CNN) - Wall Street's trade war anxiety isn't going away. The selling comes as investors brace for the US-China trade war to deal more damage to the global economy. Goldman Sachs raised its estimate of how much the trade war will hurt the economy. Investor sentiment was further dented on Monday by rising concerns about the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong. The iShares MSCI Hong Kong ETF tumbled 3% on Monday, leaving the fund down 13% so far this quarter.
