For the fourth year in a row, St. Augustine’s four craft breweries have teamed up to give back. The Nights of Pints, which coincides with the annual Nights of Lights event, was started by the breweries as a way to help nonprofit organizations in the area. According to National Geographic, it is one of the 10 best holiday lights displays in the world. “We were down here last year for the Nights of Lights and it was gorgeous, and we wanted to see it again. It is worthwhile to come every year.”The Hausers are just two of hundreds of thousands of people who will come to St. Augustine for Nights of Lights, according to the City. “Busier every year,” said Chris Taylor, a life-long St. Augustine resident.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The city of St. Augustine is preparing for thousands of visitors to check out the annual Nights of Lights at the end of the month. Chris Fitts with Angels in Architecture and his team have been hanging the lights for Nights of Lights for more than 20 years. "It takes what's already beautiful, St. Augustine, and makes it even more beautiful at night by enhancing what's already there," explained Paul Williamson, City of St. Augustine Public Affairs Director. To prepare for Nights of Lights, Fitts said they maintain all the equipment year-round and then start installing some of the lights as early as August. With just over two weeks until Nights of Lights, Fitts said there is still a lot of work to be done.

The annual Nights of Lights holiday celebration in St. Augustine will last even longer this year. The wildly popular annual holiday lighting program, which begins each year the Saturday before Thanksgiving -- will now last through Feb. 2. The City Commission voted unanimously to extend Nights of Lights an extra weekend. The Nights of Lights begins on Saturday, Nov. 23 with a ceremony in the Plaza de la Constitucin deemed Light-Up!
