JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A small Jacksonville pharmacy is the first small business in Duval County to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to the general public. Staff at Panama Pharmacy on North Main Street started giving out the first dose of the Moderna vaccine to patients this week. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man has died after he was hit by a vehicle on US-17 at Castleberry Road late Monday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Preliminary information shows the man was walking along the highway when he was struck by the vehicle. Police said it wasn’t clear if the man was walking in the road or on a sidewalk when he was hit. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person was shot early Sunday morning outside a gas station in the Brentwood neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The shooting was reported about 1:20 a.m. on North Main Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Police said that when the arrived to the gas station, they found a male, who had been shot in his left leg, inside the store. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he told police that he was shot in the parking lot outside of the store and then the gunman ran off. The victim was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 48-year-old died early Thursday morning after a pickup truck sideswiped two vehicles that had stopped on Interstate 295 southbound near Main Street after a rear-end collision, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said another pickup truck then struck the first two disabled vehicles and a pedestrian, who died at the scene. The Jacksonville Sheriffs Office is investigating an apparent hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning just south of the Trout River. Officers said they were called just after 2 a.m. to the intersection of North Main and 61st streets, where they found a woman lying in the median of North Main Street. Police said the womans body was lifeless and it appeared she had been hit by a vehicle. Officers said they also discovered vehicle debris in the street near the victim.
