The State Attorney’s Office released its investigation report on Monday afternoon, as well as body camera footage of the police-involved shooting. According to the investigation report, Johnson was pulled over for driving without a seat belt. Toward the beginning of the body camera video, Garriga asks: “Why are you so nervous?” Johnson responds: “I’m not. “At the time Officer Garriga shot Johnson, he had a reasonable belief, under Florida law, that Johnson posed a deadly threat to him and his fellow officer,” the investigation report said.

It’s unclear how many of the officers hit Pereira or how many shots were fired. It ended quickly, however, when the driver pulled into a dead-end at Claudia Spencer Street. The driver accelerated the vehicle, driving toward the officers, and two of the officers fired shots at the vehicle, according to JSO. JSO said it was too dark during the incident for the detectives to provide a suspect description of the driver or an estimate of how many passengers were in the car.

The 12-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office was placed on administrative leave, which is JSO policy. The Sheriff’s Office on Monday identified the man who was fatally shot as 39-year-old Dorgel Cisnero-Mesa.
