After winning a 2024 Hyundai Tucson as part of News4JAX’s Hometown Heroes contest, we caught up with Howell, who shared why she takes her role as a teacher so seriously, calling it “her calling,” and why she spends time investing in the youth.

Longtime Orange Park High teacher Christine Sanders Howell will soon be the proud owner of a 2024 Hyundai Tucson after winning the Hyundai Hometown Heroes contest.

Shawn Wells is a Jacksonville native who graduated from Orange Park High School.  He left to join the army in 2015.  From there he launched a modeling career that spurred a stint on reality TV (Netflix's "Too Hot to Handle") which transitioned into a recurring role on the Starz series "BMF".  Rance met up with Shawn while he was in town visiting family.   Instagram:   shawnwells_1

An 18-year-old Orange Park High School student is facing charges of sexual battery. Clay County Sheriff’s Office jail records show he’s accused of assaulting two teenage girls.

Ahead of the new school year, Clay County officials on Monday laid out their plans to keep students safe and protect against mass shootings.

Video that reportedly shows an Orange Park High School freshman being bullied on school grounds has been circulating its way around social media.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. As Clay County students return to their classrooms for the first time Tuesday, theyll notice some changes because of the ongoing pandemic. RELATED: Back to class: School starts in Clay County with new safety protocolsThe schools hallways have been converted to one-way walkways, and staff will make sure students are moving in the right direction. OPHS Principal Clayton Anderson said thats going to make a major differenceIf you look at it, we have 1,200 students. Anderson said between the one-way hallways and major reduction in the amount of students physically coming to school, students should be able to socially distance. Were utilizing our Swords up logo and everywhere the swords are pointed up is the direction that youll be going, Anderson said.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. - Students at Orange Park High School no longer have lockers to store their belongings. The school said there are multiple reasons it decided to remove the lockers, but the move was primarily because students aren't using lockers as much as they once did. Before, students who wished to use a locker had to rent one for a small fee at the beginning of the school year. A large portion of the lockers were removed years ago and the remaining lockers were removed over the summer during remodeling. The school said it has received one complaint from a parent, but it has no plans to bring the lockers back.

John Abate is on the swimming, basketball and track and field teams at Orange Park High School. John is President of the Beta club and is always donating his time in the community. He has helped with the annual food drive for the homeless and has helped raise money for the Salvation Army during the holiday season John currently has a 3.5 GPA.
