Brett Simon, president and co-founder of K9s for Warriors, told News4Jax on Thursday that the expansion will help save lives of veterans. With the upcoming expansion, the organization will be able to serve even more veterans suffering with PTSD, traumatic brain injury or military sexual trauma. Once complete, the new campus will add about 60 jobs in St. Johns County.

But with chronic pain in her legs and arms, traditional painting wasn't an option. She discovered a technique called "pour painting," where an artist mixes up colors and a painting medium in a cup and then pours it onto a canvas. Nelsen is working with the ViBe District and MOCA on an event called "The People's Pour" scheduled for October 10.
