The organizations are collecting non-perishable food items and school supplies, including flash drives, crayons and disinfectant wipes. All donations will benefit St. Johns County residents. The man accused of leaving the scene of the crash, Henry Haigler, is out on bond after pleading not guilty to two charges of felony hit-and-run. One of Landino’s close friends and neighbors, Bunny Swiatocha tells News4Jax the past several months have been difficult, especially going into the holidays. “It makes me frustrated to know Thanksgiving, he was with his family and Christmas he will be with his family. As long as the man accused of leaving the scene of the crash remains out of jail, Swiatocha says she will not have peace.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. - K9s for Warriors is expanding with the hope of shortening the time veterans spend on its waitlist. The K9s for Warriors' headquarters in Nocatee is only a few miles away. Brett Simon, president and co-founder of K9s for Warriors, told News4Jax on Thursday that the expansion will help save lives of veterans. With the upcoming expansion, the organization will be able to serve even more veterans suffering with PTSD, traumatic brain injury or military sexual trauma. Once complete, the new campus will add about 60 jobs in St. Johns County.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. - St Johns County Commissioners have approved a new development in an area that's already seeing booming growth. Durbin Creek Crossing is coming to the southwest corner of the Race Track Road and St. Johns Parkway intersection. But the development project came with some push back from residents. The Project will include up to 250,000 square feet of commercial and office space and 400 townhomes and apartments. Some of the biggest concerns include traffic in the growing area not far from State Road 9B and the Durbin Pavilion project which is still under construction.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. - Neighbors are blasting a developers plan to add hundreds of new townhomes, apartments and businesses along Race Track Road at St. Johns Parkway. Theyre demanding commissioners put a stop to the new development in Northern St. Johns County. According to the St Augustine Record, developers claim the Publix, currently under construction, would offset some of that congestion. Moving forward, the developer will need to re-apply with a new plan. Neighbors were invited to ask questions and make sure their voices are heard at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Johns County Service Center on Flora Branch Boulevard.
