In a statement, the groups said they were working together to create safe spaces for Black survivors; to confront narratives "that harm and silence Black survivors;" and lastly to come up with new practices that will help get Black survivors “believed, heard, and supported.”Burke said the most important immediate impact will simply be that a national conversation is being had. AdAmong the initiative's concrete plans: narrative research; conversation guides; a five-part event series; and “rapid-response tools” to support Black survivors who come forward.

It will air commercial free on BET, BET Jams, BET Soul and REVOLT TV, where Harrell served as vice chairman. Diddy often credits Harrell with giving him the tools to find success in music and life, even saying Harrell was like a father figure to him. In 1993, Harrell let go of Diddy, who then launched his uber-successful Bad Boy Records. Diddy posted multiple tributes to Harrell on social media following his death.

Inside Edition was with the family, including sister Ming Lee Simmons, who attends New York University, as Aoki begins a new chapter in her life. Aoki found out she was accepted to Harvard earlier this year and the whole family celebrated. Kimora said she was so proud of her daughter getting into Harvard that she was "ugly crying" when Aoki received the acceptance letter. The Simmons family took a tour of Harvard Wednesday and Aoki said she plans to study government but will also help her mom with the re-launch of the clothing line Baby Phat.
