Florida education leaders want parents to be reminded annually that they can face consequences if their children report false threats of violence.

Law enforcement is steadily cracking down on students making callous threats against schools in Florida.

Dozens of school threats have been reported since a deadly school shooting at a Georgia high school earlier this month, including several locally.

From Duval, Volusia, Putnam, and other Northeast Florida counties, several students have been arrested and charged over school threats recently.

Another student was arrested on Wednesday in Putnam County, accused of using a computer at Interlachen Junior-Senior High School to make a threat.

One Florida sheriff said he’s had enough of dealing with school threats and he is now vowing to arrest and publicly perp-walk kids and their parents to show that he means business.
