Child shot in arm while in car on Southside
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a local hospital Friday night where a child was being treated for a gunshot wound. Police learned the shooting happened as the boy’s mother was driving on Deer Lake Drive East, in a commercial area off between Southside Boulevard and the St. Johns Town Center. JSO said at least one shot was fired into the car, striking the boy in the arm. Violent Crimes Detectives responding to the scene found initial evidence suggesting the shooting was intentional. Fire prompts evacuation at Tapestry Park property off Southside Boulevard
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A fire Wednesday morning at the Tapestry Park residential and business property off Southside Boulevard forced a multi-story building to be evacuated. Dozens of fire engines and ambulances could be seen at the property around noon Wednesday, and Prosswimmer said the fire pulled a lot of manpower. Police said someone walked into the bank, told a teller they had a weapon in their bag and demanded cash. This marks the first time this year a bank has been robbed in Jacksonville after only two robberies were reported in 2020.

Car involved in shooting crashes in front of Arlington business
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A car involved in a shooting Monday afternoon in the Arlington area crashed in front of a business on Atlantic Boulevard. A Dodge Charger appeared to have clipped a canopy and a parked car in front of the Rent-A-Wheel on Atlantic Boulevard, west of Southside Boulevard. Police cars had the road blocked off in front of the business, which was surrounded by crime scene tape. News4Jax learned someone in the Charger was injured in an apparent shooting. Search for missing 5-year-old girl extends to Jacksonville's Southside
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The search for a missing 5-year-old girl has extended from the Brentwood neighborhood to Jacksonville's Southside. Crews are now in the water, searching a pond at the Southside Villas Apartments in Connection to the search for 5 year old Taylor Williams. According to Waters, Williams, who has not asked for a lawyer, and entire family, including the girl's father who is out of state, are cooperating. Waters said police have no idea where Taylor is and the search for the girl will continue overnight. Jacksonville hair salon burglarized overnight
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - There is a neighborhood crime alert in the Southside area with a thief on the run after he broke into the CEO Virgin Hair Salon near Southside Boulevard and Hogan Road. Hair was missing," said Adrienne Miller, who owns the salon. Now the entrance at CEO Virgin Hair is covered in cardboard with shards of glass still on the sidewalk.
