Arlington: 58.80 inches (+7.14 inches above normal). The year coincided with the highest humidity on record for both Arlington and Gainesville, which boosted atmospheric moisture. Warmer air can hold more moisture, leading to extra rainy days especially during the hot parts of the month. More heavy rain days are due in part to increases in water vapor.

These weather conditions are compared to temperature records that go back to 1974 and rainfall records back to 1998. The average temperature in 2020 was 71.9° ( +3.0°F above normal), just ahead of 71.8° back in 2015. The highest peak wind speed was 53 mph on Feb. 6, 2020. The peak wind speed of 50 mph on Dec. 24, 2020, was the highest all-time for the month of December.

We are in for an even colder night tonight and most of our areas are under a Frost Advisory until 9a.m. Temperatures should get down into the mid to low 30s, but not many will dip below 32°. Thursday marks the beginning of a warming trend, we wake up in the chilly low 40s and warm up into the cool upper 60s under sunny skies. We wake up in the chilly mid 40s and warm up to 70° for an afternoon high under mostly sunny skies.
