A missing 56-year-old woman who left her family home Saturday was found safe Sunday, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the woman had last been seen driving her vehicle in the area of State Road 16 and Interstate 95. Less than two hours after deputies asked for the public’s help locating the woman, the Sheriff’s Office announced late Sunday morning that she was found safe.

An electrical connection in the front passenger seat of vehicles with heated seats may loosen and deactivate the airbag, even though the seat is occupied, the wire service said. Foresters from 2015 to 2018 are covered. Vehicle owners and dealers will be notified to inspect the system and have it replaced for free, if necessary. Replacement parts arent currently available, and owners will be notified starting Nov. 29.

Sophia was diagnosed with pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia just after her fifth birthday in 2017. She spent countless days in the hospital and had to miss her entire kindergarten year at school to undergo intense treatment. Today, Sophia is in remission, and shes heading back to school this fall for second grade. Sophia was joined by members of the Subaru of Jacksonville and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society teams.
