It was a refresher course for anyone who watched the versatile tight end play last season. Pitts and several teammates — most notably quarterback Kyle Trask, cornerback Marco Wilson and receivers Kadarius Toney and Trevon Grimes — worked out for talent evaluators from 31 of 32 NFL teams. AdIt’s still entirely possible for Pitts to be the highest-drafted tight end in the modern era (since 1970). “He’s a different bird than what a traditional tight end has been or certainly has been when I played,” said Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell, a tight end who played 11 NFL seasons.

Read full article: AP source: Jags trade oft-injured Oliver to Ravens for pickA person familiar with negotiations says the Jacksonville Jaguars have traded oft-injured tight end Josh Oliver, a 2019 third-round draft pick who has been limited to four games, to the Baltimore Ravens for a conditional pick in 2022. The person said the pick will become a seventh-rounder if Oliver makes Baltimore's 53-man roster this year. New coach Urban Meyer vowed to completely revamp Jacksonville's tight end room, but he failed to land any of the top guys available in free agency. Jacksonville added run-blocking specialist Chris Manhertz (two years, $7.25 million) in free agency and re-signed James O'Shaughnessy. They have five of the top 65 picks in next month's draft, and a tight end is almost guaranteed to be one of them.

Clemson star Trevor Lawrence is the presumptive choice, and the Jaguars will use free agency to build around him. “That’s a room that’s going to have to be rebuilt in some ways,” said Meyer, who could sign Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith or Gerald Everett when free agency officially begins Wednesday.

Coach Doug Marrone said Wednesday he’s sticking with Glennon at Minnesota (5-6) on Sunday. It probably helped that Glennon was solid in his first start since Week 4 of the 2017 season. Glennon didn’t have a turnover — the first time since the season opener Jacksonville played a clean game — and wasn’t sacked. “There’s no doubt that we are going to try to win every single game that we play,” Marrone said.
