Watershed Drive North, in the Whitehouse area west of Interstate 295, was closed due to police activity for several hours. Detectives said a gun was found and they were investigating if this was a murder-suicide, but that was not confirmed. Neighbors said they had seen a man and woman move into the house less than a month ago. “Just seeing everything going on, it’s kind of crazy,” neighbor Tyrell Wilson said.

Tremayne Javares Robinson, 17, is charged with murder and evidence tampering in the death of the 17-year-old girl, identified by family as Alayshia Powe. Police said they found the teenage girl dead of what appeared to be a gunshot wound inside the residence. RELATED: Teenage girl found shot to death in Whitehouse home, family saysDetectives said Robinson was taken to the Police Memorial Building to be interviewed by detectives about the shooting. According to the Sheriff's Office, the gun used to kill the teenage girl was found after Robinson tried to get rid of it near the scene.

No suspects were identified by police, but Powe's family members said they were told by the lead detective that a male suspect is in custody.
