JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man and woman were found dead Friday morning in the home off Beaver Street and another man was hospitalized after being shot in the house, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Watershed Drive North, in the Whitehouse area west of Interstate 295, was closed due to police activity for several hours. Detectives said a gun was found and they were investigating if this was a murder-suicide, but that was not confirmed. Neighbors said they had seen a man and woman move into the house less than a month ago. “Just seeing everything going on, it’s kind of crazy,” neighbor Tyrell Wilson said.

Residents there said a recent drainage project meant to alleviate flooding is actually making the flooding worse. The Old Plank Road Outfall Improvements project was meant to help control water flow in Jacksonvilles Whitehouse area on the Westside. If we find that the design was in error then the city will take steps to correct the situationOne Whitehouse resident told News4Jax flood has been an issue. Family members and co-workers shared their favorite memories of the rising senior at Ed White High School, whom they described as soft-spoken, sweet and always quick to go above and beyond. "She was the love of our lives and her family," said Annette Gibson, Powe's cousin. "Were supporting each other with love, with prayers and the communitys support, her friends from high school, just the community as a whole and the nation. Though Saturday was meant to be a celebration of Powe's life, it also had a somber message.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A teenage boy was arrested after a teenage girl was shot to death Friday afternoon inside a Whitehouse home, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced Monday. Tremayne Javares Robinson, 17, is charged with murder and evidence tampering in the death of the 17-year-old girl, identified by family as Alayshia Powe. Police said they found the teenage girl dead of what appeared to be a gunshot wound inside the residence. RELATED: Teenage girl found shot to death in Whitehouse home, family saysDetectives said Robinson was taken to the Police Memorial Building to be interviewed by detectives about the shooting. According to the Sheriff's Office, the gun used to kill the teenage girl was found after Robinson tried to get rid of it near the scene.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A teenager was found shot to death Friday afternoon in a Whitehouse home, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. The teenage girl was identified as 17-year-old Alayshia Powe (pictured), who attended Ed White High School, by family members, including by a man who said he was her grandfather. Its unclear what led to the shooting, but Powe's death has left relatives and neighbors heartbroken. Powes death comes just two weeks before a family reunion in Atlanta. No suspects were identified by police, but Powe's family members said they were told by the lead detective that a male suspect is in custody.
