President Donald Trump's administration apparently has backed away from a proposal to eliminate funding for Head Start.

The Trump administration is asking Congress to eliminate the Head Start program, a move that would cut early education for some of the nation’s neediest children as part of drastic proposed cuts to federal health funding.
