Zeinab Faraj is being recognized for outstanding achievements in athletics, academics, and community service.

Tamira Briley, a senior on the weightlifting and track teams at Oakleaf High School, was the 2020/2021 Clay County’s Female Athlete of the Year.

Brad Miller is captain of the football team at Bishop Kenny School as well as a member of the Football Leadership Council, student government, National Honor Society and also the Math, History and English National Honor Societies.

Nominate an athlete who excels in the classroom and in the community.

Hakem Smith is on the baseball team at Sandalwood High School. He graduated from the Early College Program with an AA degree. Hakem volunteers with the Fort Caroline Athletic Association helping with little league and with Rip City, a training facility for both baseball and softball players. He currently has a 3.5 GPA.

Madison Powell is captain of the softball team at Fletcher Senior High School. She volunteers as a coach at the local softball park to share her love for the sport with younger kids. Madison has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Florida State College of Jacksonville. She currently has a 4.1 GPA.

Samantha Hill is a senior majoring in classical guitar at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. Samantha plays volleyball with the Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association and is a volunteer junior coach. Samantha also volunteers with the Clara White Mission, Second Harvest and the Clara White Rescue Mission. She currently has a 3.9 G.P.A.

Alyssa Grupp honored as All-Star AthletePublished: June 27, 2020, 9:11 amAlyssa Grupp signed to play softball at Marist College, Alyssa is the captain of the softball team and is on the weightlifting team at Atlantic Coast High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and treasurer for the Class of 2020. She currently has a 4.4 GPA.

Jaeda McFarland is on the softball team at Oakleaf High School. Jaeda broke the school home run record last year as a junior and has signed to play Division 1 softball for the University of Maryland. She is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society and Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society. Jaeda has volunteered at Elevate Church and has contributed to several fundraisers held for Oakleaf High School. She currently has a 4.2 GPA.

Cassidy Stevens is a member of the National Honor Society, is on the yearbook staff and is co-founder of a student-run Coffee Shack business at Eagles View. Cassidy currently has a 3.5 GPA.

Ana Bradshaw honored as All-Star AthletePublished: June 1, 2020, 8:34 amAna Bradshaw is on the wrestling team at Fletcher High School. Ana spends most of her time working out in the weight room at Black Hive and on the mats at her local AAU club. She volunteers with the St. Pauls' Vacation Bible School and with Shop with a Cop, providing Christmas presents to children from the Sulzbacher Center. Ana currently has a 3.0 GPA.

Bailey Whitlow is on the varsity cheer squad at Clay High School. Bailey is the junior class vice president, in the National Honor Society and in the Beta Club. She volunteers as a youth leader at her church and every year participates in a local mission with the church called Soul in the City.Bailey currently has a 4.0 GPA.

Patrick is president of the Senior Class and president of the National Honor Society. He was selected as a member of the 2020 FHSAA Academic All-State Team. Patrick volunteers with Camp I Am Special, a camp for children with special needs. Patrick currently has a 4.4 GPA.

He volunteers with the Tim Callahan Foundation, teaching fundamentals of various sports to kids at a sports camp. Brandon currently has a 3.8 GPA.

Kyle Hopkins is co-captain of the wrestling team at William M. Raines High School. His current record is 14-2 and is a Class 1A District 2 and a Class 1A Region 1 Champion. Kyle volunteers at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and donates his time assisting special needs children with the help of musical instruments. Kyle currently has a 3.2 GPA.

Cleburne Wilson has been the captain of the swim team at Ponte Vedra High School for four years. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, Rho Kappa and the Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society. Cleburne has over 400 volunteer hours with various organizations, including the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Core, Habitat for Humanity and the Ponte Vedra Cultural Center. He currently has a 4.6 GPA.

Megan Witucki is a four-year member of the girls’ golf team at Atlantic Coast High School. Megan is a member of the National Honor Society and the American Sign Language Honor Society. She volunteers with and is president of the Rays of Hope club which promotes the inclusion of special needs students in school-related activities. Megan also volunteers with Special Olympics and Foster Closet. She currently has a 3.8 GPA.

Olivia Peoples is on the swimming team at Nease High School. Olivia is a three-time Florida state swimming individual champion, in the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She is a role model to younger swimmers in both her school and the Bolles Club team. Olivia recently committed to the University of Florida and currently has a 4.5 GPA.

Meg's favorite community service is to work with kids, babysitting or helping out in the classroom. She has worked at the open house and the reward carnivals for the fundraisers.
