Monday morning, we began a new series on The Morning Show called “Home Grown.” Why? We recognize buying fresh produce is not only expensive, but it’s also difficult if you live in a neighborhood that doesn’t have easy access to a grocery store.

For this week's SnapJAX Stories, it was a perfectly aligned overhead picture that got our attention. Our goal is to find the story behind the picture and what we found on the ground were greens, grace and hope.

BEAM and Humana team up to help more than 80 senior citizens living in the Jacksonville beach area.

The Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry continues to serve an influx of families who have been hit hard by COVID-19. The organization has supplied more than 1 million pounds of food to at-risk populations since January. Lori Richards, executive director of BEAM, said the need for assistance is unprecedented. “Since April, we have continued to see historic levels of need,” explained Richards. Since January, the organization has also supplied more than 1 million pounds of food to those in need at the beaches.
