Feeling like fall on this Saturday with inland temperatures in the low 60s and upper 60s and 70s across the coast. Temperatures will quickly warm up to around average for this time of year in the upper 80s with low humidity. A high rip current risk continues across our local beaches. Sunday morning temperatures will continue to be on the “chillier” side with lows in the upper 60s and low 70s region wide. Warmer afternoon highs in the low 90s but mostly dry. Rain chances return Monday night into the rest of the week!

Feels like late summer, but it’s the first day of Fall.  A warm afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 80s with scattered to numerous showers and storms, continuing through early tomorrow morning.  Slow moving storms with heavy rainfall could lead to local flooding.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After record challenging heat to begin this week, a weekend cooldown will bring a taste of Fall to the First Coast. The sunny skies and upper 80s hold strong through Friday afternoon, but the temperatures tumble Friday night. Expect a sunny, breezy, crisp day only warming into the low 70s. Temperatures will turn chilly quickly Saturday night, diving down into the low 60s for a chilly start Sunday morning. Sunday won’t be quite as cool, with temperatures warming into the mild low 80s for the afternoon, under partly cloudy skies.

We topped out in the crisp upper 70s. Temperatures will turn chilly quickly as we head towards sunset and eventually make it down into the mid to upper 50s overnight. Thursday starts out chilly and warms nicely into the low 80s for the afternoon. Friday we wake up in the cool low 60s and warm back up into the low 80s under sunny skies. We will top out in the low 80s.

Thursday and Friday will be sunny and gorgeous, waking up in the upper 50s and low 60s and warming up into the low 80s. Saturday will start out in the low 60s and warm up into the upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. A mild Nor’Easter begins to set in, with northeasterly winds around 15 mph. Sunday may end up wet, along the coastline, with northeasterly winds pushing coastal showers onshore. The Fall like temperatures continue into the day, topping out in the upper 70s.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, people are trying to keep up with fall traditions, but they’re coming with some changes for sanitation and social distancing. One of the largest pumpkin patches in Jacksonville is set to open Saturday at Mandarin United Methodist Church. “The patch this year will have some great pumpkins,” said Conley Hobbie, or the Great Pumpkin, as he’s affectionately called. “Many pumpkin patches in the area have decided not to have a pumpkin patch, so Mandarin United Methodist Church is probably going to be one of the biggest pumpkin patches in Jacksonville this year,” Hobbie said. Volunteers may also ask people to wait in their cars if there’s a line so families don’t “squash” together.

With mostly sunny skies our feeling of Fall erodes quickly as we warm into the mid 80s. Waking up in the mid 70s and warm up into the upper 80s. Expect scattered afternoon showers and a thunderstorm or two. For the weekend, the partly sunny skies are back and so are the afternoon showers. Expect to top out in the upper 80s with passing showers, mainly during the afternoon hours.

Jacksonville, FLA. – Today we still saw coastal flooding evening though our northeasterly winds began to relax a bit. Read more about our Fall temperature here...Wednesday starts out crisp and cool and turns warm for a few hours during the afternoon. Wednesday evening will be lovely and cool again, with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s. Friday marks the end of our cool temperatures for now, we will warm up to 87° with widely scattered showers. The weekend will be warm and wet at times, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and widespread chances for passing showers and storms.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On the first day of official fall, we are uncharacteristically participating with cool, crisp temperatures. We don’t get much of a fall season, but we sure know how to take advantage of the spurts of cooler temperatures when they arrive. If this stretch off cooler temperatures occurred over the weekend, it would surely kick off the family pumpkin patch pictures. Warning: It is not a “boots weather” round of fall temperatures. Tuesday starts out mostly cloudy and onshore winds build again, into the 15-20 mph range along the coastline, lighter over inland areas. We expect partially clearing skies, allowing temperatures to warm up to around 80°. Expect partly cloudy skies, low to no chances for showers, and afternoon highs in the low 80s.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. The University of Florida on Friday announced that it will increase the number of online classes and move some classrooms outdoors to prevent the spread of COVID-19 this fall. There will be more online classes, and some will be hybrids of both in-person and online. Given the current incidence of the virus, we cannot count on that happening, but the option to convert to face-to-face is there throughout the Fall semester, UF said. The entire campus community is expected to continue the standard practices of wearing face coverings required in all UF facilities. UF also will be expanding enhanced cleaning and safety protocols in residence halls, dining facilities and classrooms with the arrival of the fall semester.

The predictive map pulls historical data and seasonal forecast predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to predict the precise moment peak fall will occur county-by-county across the US. The map is one of the only fall leaf tools that provides accurate predictions for the entire continental US, according to the Smoky Mountains tourism site. The map appears to show that by November 2, every state in the US will see at least a little bit of foliage.

The first few days of the season haven't felt much like fall at all for many across the United States. Here's a look at three wild weather events that marked the start of season. The city got 9.7 inches of snow on September 28 the highest one-day September snow amount in Great Falls history. History was made in Missoula, where the city broke its September snowfall record of 1.5 inches set in 1934.
