According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving south when he crashed into a car heading north, causing his car to go up in flames. The two vehicles were driving in opposite directions on A1A, just north of Milliken Lane, when they crashed into each other. The driver of the other car has minor injuries. Investigators are still trying to figure out why the driver veered into oncoming traffic.

Kiaun Shannard Miller is charged with second-degree murder and his being held without bond in the Clay County jail. Deputies said Shantdella Garcon was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the Park at Matera apartment complex off Spencer Road in Orange Park. Neighbors said investigators were at the complex for hours on Christmas Day, gathering information. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, one of the cars, a red Lexus coupe, hit a gray Ford pickup while trying to pass it. The Lexus lost control and overturned multiple times. The BMW also lost control causing it to drive across three lanes of traffic before hitting a concrete barrier. Luckily, the driver of the Ford pickup managed to pull over into the emergency lane safely.

JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old Clay County boy was killed Friday night in a head-on crash on State Road 16 at Francis Road in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The Middleburg teen was a passenger in a car driven by a 16-year-old boy, also from Middleburg, the FHP report showed. According to the crash report, the 16-year-old driving on State Road 16 about 8:15 p.m. Friday ignored the right of way of a pickup truck at the intersection with Francis Road. The resulting head-on crash killed the 17-year-old passenger of the car and seriously injured the 16-year-old driver. All lanes of SR-16 between I-95 and Pacetti Road were blocked in both directions while troopers investigated the crash.

Police said the man had been shot at least once. The Sheriff’s Office said it believes the shooter fled from the scene but it has no information about that person at this time. The Highway Patrol said an SUV was traveling east on Beach Boulevard near Thalia Road around 10 p.m. when that pedestrian stepped out in front of the moving vehicle. Troopers said SUV then collided with the pedestrian, who was not at an intersection. The pedestrian, a 37-year-old Jacksonville man, was transported to a hospital, where he died, troopers said. According to the Highway Patrol, the driver of the SUV, a 32-year-old Jacksonville man, and the two passengers, a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, were not injured.

Officers found who appeared to be a teenage girl suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Police say that primary investigation uncovered that there was an altercation of some kind inside the convenience store. The arguing parties proceeded into the parking lot, where after sometime, one of the individuals involved fired a handgun, striking the victim. Police say they believe that all of the individuals involved in the incident have been detained.

Traffic was diverted onto 103rd street. All lanes have since been cleared and reopened.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Peter Malave was traveling east on State Road 100 when his Dodge Ram truck veered off the road. The truck continued into the grass shoulder, hitting a cable box and then a wooden power pole. The vehicle flipped multiple times before stopping at the tree line near the roadway. Malave was taken to Putnam Community Medical but died from his injuries.
